Lara’s approach is shaped by her diverse background and extensive experience working with clients from various cultural, social, and personal contexts, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and immigrant communities.

Lara’s approach to therapy is integrative, combining her solid foundation in psychoanalytic theory with psychodynamic techniques, trauma-informed care, and cultural sensitivity. She works with the understanding that our past experiences, influence how we relate to ourselves and others in the present. By exploring these deeper dynamics, Lara helps clients understand the emotional patterns and beliefs that shape their behaviour, allowing for insight and change.

Specializing in identity and relationship issues, trauma, emotional regulation, and personal development, Lara tailors her approach to the needs of each individual. She is committed to providing therapy that respects the unique context and history of her clients, drawing from a variety of techniques that best suit their goals. Whether navigating challenging emotions, life transitions, or difficult relationships, Lara works with her clients to understand the underlying factors and empower them to move forward with clarity and self-awareness.

Lara’s academic and professional training includes a Master’s degree in Psychoanalysis and Clinical Research from the State University of Rio de Janeiro.  She has taught courses on mental health at Fanshawe Toronto, where she gained further insight into the Canadian mental health landscape. Lara’s goal is to work alongside clients to navigate their own emotional and psychological terrain. She brings a direct yet compassionate approach to her work, helping individuals understand the dynamics of their inner lives and create lasting change.
