Jayati Singh, MA, MPhil, RP

Jayati Singh is a Registered Psychotherapist with over ten years of experience providing therapy in a range of clinical settings, including private practice, community health centres, group practices, and shelter homes. Her approach is grounded in relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy and enriched by training in a variety of modalities, including EMDR, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and attachment-based therapies; she also makes use of Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory. Her integrative framework allows her to respond thoughtfully and flexibly to the individual needs.

Jayati works with adults and couples navigating a broad spectrum of concerns, such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and complex trauma, relationship and attachment challenges, grief and loss, and questions of identity or life direction. She has particular experience in working with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, and approaches this work with care, clinical depth, and a strong trauma-informed foundation.

Her practice is rooted in queer-affirming, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive values, and she is committed to creating a space where people from diverse backgrounds feel respected, understood, and supported. Jayati has extensive experience working with the queer community and with clients navigating immigrant challenges. She brings a deep understanding of how queerness, cultural identity, and migration can intersect to shape one’s psychological experience.

Having trained and practiced internationally, Jayati brings a deeply informed and intersectional lens to her work. She has supported clients navigating intergenerational trauma, displacement, and systemic marginalization, and brings a nuanced sensitivity to questions of cultural identity, belonging, and resilience. Her therapeutic stance is warm, curious, and collaborative. She helps clients explore underlying emotional patterns and relational dynamics, offering a space for deeper self-understanding and meaningful psychological change—not just symptom relief.

Jayati is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and conversant in Urdu. She offers therapy both virtually across Ontario and in person at our downtown Toronto office. She welcomes individuals and couples into her practice.
