OUR METHOD

Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy

Trauma & Complex PTSD

Childhood wounds, relational trauma, complex PTSD, attachment injuries

Trauma isn’t always a single dramatic event. Many of the people we work with carry what’s sometimes called “small-t” trauma — years of emotional invalidation, difficult early relationships, or experiences that left them feeling unsafe, unseen, or unworthy. Whether your trauma is recent or rooted in childhood, we offer a slow, careful approach that prioritizes your sense of safety at every step. EMDR is available for clients who benefit from a more targeted processing approach alongside the relational work.

THIS MIGHT RESONATE IF YOU...

  • Carry weight from the past that shapes your present

  • Struggle with trust, intimacy, or feeling safe

  • Experience emotional flashbacks or numbness

  • Repeat painful patterns in relationships

  • Feel disconnected from yourself or your body

Modalities:    EMDR  ·  Psychoanalytic  ·  Attachment-Based  ·  Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy  ·  ACT

Trauma work requires the right fit. Our intake process carefully matches you with a clinician experienced in this area — and sets a pace that feels safe.

Depression & Low Self-Worth

Persistent low mood, emptiness, self-criticism, identity struggles

Depression often shows up as numbness or flatness rather than visible sadness — and low self-worth can feel so familiar it seems like a fixed part of who you are. We believe both can change with the right depth of exploration. Our work goes beyond symptom relief to understand the origins of these feelings: what they’re connected to, what purpose they once served, and how to relate to yourself differently over time.

THIS MIGHT RESONATE IF YOU...

  • Feel empty, flat, or disconnected from your life

  • Are chronically hard on yourself

  • Struggle to feel pleasure or motivation

  • Have managed depression for years without lasting relief

  • Are questioning your identity or direction

Modalities:   Psychoanalytic  ·  CBT  ·  DBT  ·  ACT  ·  Motivational Interviewing

We work collaboratively, and can coordinate care alongside psychiatrists or GPs when that’s part of your treatment.

Anxiety, Stress & Burnout

Worry, panic, perfectionism, high-functioning anxiety, workplace burnout

Anxiety shows up differently for everyone — a constant low-grade hum of worry, panic attacks, social anxiety, or a relentless inner critic. High-functioning anxiety is common in professionals and creatives: everything looks fine from the outside, but inside the pressure is relentless. Workplace burnout often lives here too. Rather than just teaching you to manage symptoms, we work to understand where the anxiety comes from — what it’s protecting, what it’s tied to, and why it persists despite your best efforts.

THIS MIGHT RESONATE IF YOU...

  • Feel chronically overwhelmed or can’t switch off

  • Hold yourself to impossible standards

  • Are exhausted by your own drive or perfectionism

  • Have tried CBT before but want to go deeper

Modalities:    CBT  ·  ACT  ·  Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy  ·  DBT  ·  Motivational Interviewing

We match you with a clinician whose style fits yours — not just your diagnosis.

Relationships & Couples

Couples therapy, attachment patterns, communication, intimacy, polyamory

Relationships are where our earliest wounds show up most clearly — and where the most meaningful healing can happen. We work with couples navigating conflict, disconnection, infidelity, or the slow drift of a busy life. We also work with individuals who want to understand their patterns: why they attract certain dynamics, struggle with vulnerability, or feel chronically misunderstood. We are proudly inclusive and affirming of all relationship structures, including queer, trans, and polyamorous relationships.

THIS MIGHT RESONATE IF YOU...

  • Feel stuck in the same fights with no resolution

  • Struggle with closeness, commitment, or vulnerability

  • Want to understand your attachment style

  • Are navigating non-monogamy or an open relationship

  • Are in a queer, trans, or LGBTQ+ relationship

Modalities:    EFT-C  ·  Tavistock Couples Therapy  ·  Skills-Based Couples Therapy  ·  Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Tavistock-informed couples work explores the unconscious dynamics partners develop together — helping you understand the deeper patterns driving conflict, not just the surface argument.

Postpartum, Perinatal & New Families

Postpartum depression, fertility, pregnancy loss, infant–parent, parenting support

Becoming a parent — or trying to — is one of the most emotionally demanding experiences there is. We support people navigating postpartum depression and anxiety (across all gender identities), the grief of pregnancy loss or miscarriage, the emotional weight of fertility challenges and IVF, and the adjustment that comes with early parenthood. We also offer infant–parent therapy to support the earliest relationship bonds, and parenting support for those who want to show up differently than they were raised to.

THIS MIGHT RESONATE IF YOU...

  • Are struggling with postpartum depression or anxiety

  • Have experienced pregnancy loss or miscarriage

  • Are navigating fertility treatment or IVF

  • Want support adjusting to parenthood

  • Are concerned about your infant’s development or bond

Modalities:   Attachment-Based  ·  Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy  ·  CBT  ·  EFT

Postpartum depression affects all gender identities — we welcome mothers, fathers, non-binary parents, and partners navigating this transition.

Grief, Loss & Life Transitions

Bereavement, identity shifts, major life changes, meaning-making

Grief comes in many forms: the loss of a person, a relationship, a career, a version of yourself you thought you’d become. Life transitions — a new city, a major career shift, retirement, or simply reaching a milestone that feels hollow — can be equally disorienting. These are the moments when deeper reflection tends to be most valuable, even when nothing is technically “wrong.” We hold space for ambiguous loss as much as concrete grief.

THIS MIGHT RESONATE IF YOU...

  • Have experienced a significant loss

  • Feel unmoored, without direction, or purposeless

  • Are adjusting to a new life stage or identity

  • Are processing a relationship ending

  • Carry grief that others around you have moved on from

hope and inclusion in mental health

Not sure which area describes you best?

Most people arrive with experiences that touch several of these areas at once — that’s completely normal. Our intake coordinator takes time to understand what you’re going through and matches you with the clinician whose background, style, and availability are the right fit. Not just the next available slot.
